Poking the Bear
Not to sound like an Arsenal fan*, but the pitch at Wigan today was nearly unplayable, and the styles on display showed that. It was a good result in the end, and nice to see Pav get out there and prove himself useful (and Huddlestone prove himself useless in the kind of match you’d think might benefit him**), but good Jesus that was an awful 90 minutes, most of it down to the state of the pitch. I hope those motherfuckers get relegated just so I don’t have to see a match played in such conditions again. Wigan, you’re at Bolton levels of hatred now.
*See, I’m making an observation, not an excuse, so there’s the difference.
** I’m almost convinced Redknapp left him out there just to get the red card, so that he couldn’t instinctively pencil his name next to Palacios (who has a fucking motor and a half to cover for Hudd’s bullshit marking and Bentley’s walkabouts and Bale’s surges. I don’t know how he ever plays the full 90 and yet he has only missed one league game this season.)
